I'm an HR professional, writer, lifelong learner, and curious observer based currently in Toronto, Canada.

Over the years, my career and life have taken me across Pakistan, the United Kingdom and Canada, through different organizations, cultures, industries and stages of life. Along the way, I've learned that some of the most valuable lessons don't come from a classroom or a job title.

They come from experience.
From starting over.
From taking risks.
From getting things wrong.
From meeting people who see the world differently.
And sometimes, simply from paying attention.

A Career Built Across Countries

I've spent more than a decade working in Human Resources and people management across private-sector, multinational, government, and international organizations.

My professional experience has included areas such as Human Resources, leadership, organizational development, employee relations, talent management, workplace culture and people strategy. I've had the opportunity to work in different environments and observe how organizations, leaders, managers, and employees respond to change. Those experiences continue to shape the way I think about work and leadership.

But this website isn't an HR website and it isn't a career coaching or employment consulting service.

It's my personal space to write, reflect, explore, and share.

Starting Again in Canada

One of the most defining chapters of my life began when I moved to Canada. Like many newcomers, I had to navigate a completely different environment and rebuild parts of my professional life. I went from having significant professional experience overseas to starting again in Canada.

I studied, worked, adapted, learned how things worked in a new country, and gradually rebuilt my professional journey. That experience changed my perspective. It taught me that starting over isn't necessarily starting from zero. You bring your experiences, skills, failures, relationships, memories and lessons with you. Sometimes you simply have to learn how to use them in a new environment.

My experiences as an immigrant, international student, and professional in Canada naturally influence some of what I write about here. But I share them as personal experiences and perspectives, not as professional immigration advice.

The name Life, Career & Beyond is intentional.

Career is part of life but life is much bigger than a career.

So I don't want this website to be limited to resumes, interviews, jobs, or workplace advice.

Why I Write

I don't believe every article needs to give you an answer.

Sometimes a good story simply makes you think.
Sometimes an experience makes you reconsider something you already believed.
Sometimes a historical event helps explain something happening today.
Sometimes a photograph from a place you've never visited can make you want to pack a bag and go.

That's what I hope to create here.

Stories that make you stop.
Ideas that make you think.
Experiences that make you curious.
Lessons that stay with you.

Beyond the Job Title

I've spent much of my career working with people that has taught me something important:

Everyone has a story behind the résumé.
The newcomer starting over.
The professional questioning their next move.
The student trying to understand a new country.
The traveller discovering somewhere for the first time.
The parent learning from their children.
The person watching a match, a movie, or a news story and wondering, "What does this really mean?"

Those are the stories that interest me and those are the stories I want to explore here.
